Door Knob

Great useless invention, but I liked the tie/sock on the door knob!

Grammar? Why??? Why do I have to suck so bad?

I was out golfing with a couple buddies the other day, after a terrible 18 holes we decided to go out for food.  We ended up on the east end on the Danforth in Toronto.  If you familiar with that area it tends to be a little Greek.  Meaning that there are a lot of mom and pop restaurants and stores.  So I blurted out “Cool, we can get something ethic” not realizing my mistake until everyone started laughing, which I brushed out as saying I wouldn’t mind eating somewhere where they killed my food ethically?  Obviously I meant to say Ethnic not Ethic.  I don’t consider myself a person of below average intelligence but maybe this is a sign.  I can write flawless code for an application but when it comes to writing an essay on a new technology, I spent more time changing theirs to there’s than I do researching technology.  I guess that’s one of the reasons I started this blog.  To improve on that, but until I learn to spot the mistake or someone does it for me I’ll continue to make them.

This probably stems from the fact that the last book I read was Tim Allen’s don’t stand to close to a naked man 5 years ago.  Probably time to download a few new books.  Maybe pick up the globe and mail as opposed to the metro.

Bah who needs grammar anyway;

Me Fail English, That’s Unpossible

Go Train Blues

Life and death by a go train by a go train schedule, like millions of people I take the go train into work everyday. I don’t own a car, but bought a house close enough to Eglinton go station that I can walk to it. Despite the year of the late train it has been good. Last year and most years I could remember you could schedule your watch the train schedule.

As I type, I’m taking a new train line for the first time, the lakeshore line was canceled and I hopped on the Stouville line which stops @ Kennedy and is is a short bus ride away for my house.

I’ve been anxious to try the line since they made the stop @ Kennedy and this is as good an opportunity as I will see. It will probably take me longer to get there with a bus trip but I don’t have to deal with the angry people @ union cursing and crowding over the next train going eastbound.

I’m surprised with the Stouville line. After getting over the new line/car/train jitters where I think everyone is talking about me the new guy on the train, it’s quite pleasant. It may be a case of the grass is greener but the train is nowhere near capacity. On a lakeshore line I would be hard press to find a seat and would have to push and shove to get it. I jumped on this one only 4 minutes before departure and was able to find a seat with two other people, this is the case with most of the seats right now. I’m divided on this, one part of me is enjoying the peace and quiet (if you’ve ever tried to get a train after one has been canceled you know what I mean), the other part of me is disappointed that the load isn’t spread out better. Would is be possible to have the train I’m on right now go to Pickering and have the Stouville guys wait until they can fill one? Probably selfish of me but it did cross my mind.

Going to leave this for now and finish up after I catch the bus, hopefully as good a experience as this but I doubt it. I’ve taken Eglinton buses all my life and I’ve learn a couple things your patience most be astronomical and there is no bus that smells as bad as the 116.

To be continued

So I arrived at Kennedy, it was such a beautiful day that I decided to walk home. I think I got home quicker than I would if I waited for an overcrowded lakeshore bus.
