Summerlious Coming Up

With Summerlious coming up I thought it would be good to list and
review the restaurants I’ve been to in the past. Man there are a lot
of them this year.

I think summerlious is a great marketing ploy, go to these
restaurants, we’ll give you cheaper food than normal but you get to
experience the ambiance.

We’ll works for me, spend under $100 for two people is still less than
$200-$300 I would spend if my wife and I went out to the bars with
friends (that includes a $40 cab from downtown Toronto to sub-urban
Scarborough).

Definately one of the stars of summerlious, went @ lunch with my aunt,
great view no matter where you sit, good food. I’ll try and get a
Dinner reservation this year for my wife.

Far Niente

Dinner with friends, good, a long time ago and I got there pretty
drunk and was excited to go drinking afterward so my mind was
elsewhere.

Jump Cafe & Bar

18 Wellington Street West,
Commerce Court

Went with my buddy Vince (vchan.ca) don’t remember much of this one
either. Good ambiance, nice place to go after work for an expensive
drink with a friend.

Kit Kat Italian Bar & Grill
297 King Street West
297 King Street West

Great Food! Great portions, but typical King street restaurant,
small, crammed. I’d go back for dinner before a show @ Diesal House
or Princess

Lobby
192 Bloor Street West
192 Bloor Street West

The most pretentious place I had ever been at that time (2-3 years
ago). Good food, small portions. Extremely trendy, I think the train
the hosts there to be jerks.
***
Monsoon Restaurant and Lounge
100 Simcoe Street
100 Simcoe Street

I know I’ve been for lunch but don’t remember much, large place, comfortable.
***
Rosewater Supper Club
19 Toronto Street
19 Toronto Street
416-214-5888
The classiest restaurant I’ve ever been. Here nice, water falls,
pianist, nice Gothic candle lights. Tried once, glad I went.

There’s more I’m forgetting that I’ll try and add.

Looking forward to ‘07, if you know of any to try comment it up!

Testing blog entries through email #8

I’m sure most Wordpress users have already done this and that it’s tested and true but I have to post about my experience.

Though posting on this blog is very therapeutic it often becomes laboured and eventually forgotten, so anything to help make update this is great.

Hopefully this is be the start of the summer of George, I’m mean posts.

:)

Details on trial #3, switched format to TEXT

Details on trial #4, Only the subject line to getting to the blog, switched to RTF, increased text size (I know, what would that do).

Details on trials #5, google’d the problem, found this site, applied the code changes;
http://wordpress.org/support/topic/82874

Details on trial #6, msg body came out as jargon, switching back to html format. (hence this text looks different)

Details on trial #7.  Sent through gmail.  No posted content visble.

Details on trial #8.  Finally went through, sent from GMAIL account (work email has to many relays and headers) the msg had to be formated as plain text and we;ve got it working.  Very buggy.

But works!

Review MLB.TV

Probably the reason I registered a .TV domain is that I subscribed to MLB.TV.

Awesome service, though my work firewall blocks it.  I like the idea of watching every jays game from last season, though I never will.  Signed up for a month, and almost got to the point where my laptop was beside my bed every night playing so game that was going into extra innings.  There are some bugs that need to be worked out with the system, like even though some games say they will play in 700b/s they will only go @ 400.  Also a couple of times a game started but I was not able to see or hear it.  It simply didn’t work.

Still a great product.  I’m trying to cancel my subscription now and it’s quite a difficult process, if you look that there website they have nothing easily linked.  Why do that, you have a good product make is easy for me to jump in and out and I will come back, why take thegym membership route and jerk me around.  Ah well, can’t hold to many grudges, still a good pruduct.
